Hope for the Weary and Broken

The world is weary. We are tired of wars, floods, earthquakes… and death. But there is also a fire I feel stirring in the world among the remnant and right here in my own soul. Maybe you feel it too. It’s deep and hidden, but there is hope for the weary.
Today, I want to speak to the tired, weary, broken, and downcast. This message is for you. It’s not for the strong, the proud, or those who have it all together. This is for the one who has been through the valley of shadows, and wonders if you will ever feel whole again.
Please listen carefully: Nothing in your story is wasted. The fire you walked through, the pain you endured, the scars you carry—they were not meant to destroy you. They were meant to refine you and awaken something deep in you. They are the embers that light a spark in you.
You may not feel it right now. Maybe you’ve buried it beneath years of disappointment, pain, betrayal, or even trauma. Perhaps the weight of the world has smothered it. Life’s battles have left you convinced the fire within you is extinguished. But I promise you it’s still there.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5).
The Bible calls that light within you the Imago Dei—the image of God stamped on your soul. It’s fragile, yes, but it’s also stubborn. It refuses to burn out because it was placed there by the very hand of the Creator. And God has not forgotten you. He sees every tear you’ve cried in secret. He knows every battle you’ve fought alone. And He still has a purpose and a plan for you.
You’re not here by accident. You’re not a mistake. You’re not too far gone. You haven’t made too big of a mess in your life. Perhaps you’ve been looking for comfort in all the wrong places. God is calling out to you today.
In the book of Ezekiel, the prophet has a vision of a valley of dry bones. “The hand of the Lord was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley; it was full of bones… And he said to me, ‘Son of man, can these bones live?’ I answered, ‘O Lord God, you know.’ Then he said to me, ‘Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord’” (Ezekiel 37:1-4).
The valley Ezekiel describes is full of death—no life, no hope, no future. But God told Ezekiel to speak to the bones and call them to life. It was then that the Spirit of God swept through the valley. Bone came to bone, flesh covered sinew, and breath filled lungs. What was dead became alive.
Friend, that same Spirit is speaking to you right now. You are not beyond His reach or too broken. There is fire within you. Hear God say to you today: “Dry bones, live. Child, come alive again.”
This world needs light, love, and it needs you! Stand up, fan the spark, and let the Spirit of God set your heart ablaze again. And as the fire builds in your heart, God will forge in you a faith that is unshakable. And when the darkness tries to close in on you, you will stand as proof that it cannot overcome the light.
“Awaken, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you” (Ephesians 5:14).
This is your moment to stand, breathe, and live. Because in Christ, your story isn’t over.
